Nothing Sketchy About Google SketchUp & Their ‘Model Your Town Competition’ « ArquitecturaS

Google has announced the finalists of theirModel Your Town Competition that challenged people throughout the world to create a replica of their city in 3D. The premise was built on acknowledging communities and their architecture on an international stage. The Google Sketchupproduct coupled with Google Earth allowed for 3D modeling of every building and skyscraper that makes up a city or town’s landscape. With all entries tallied, it’s now time for the public to weigh in and select the winner.
"Commencing in December, 2009, voting officially ends May 1. The five town finalists to reach the final round represent 3 continents.

· Barranco (Lima, Peru)

· Braunschweig (Niedersachsen, Germany)
· Donostia – San Sebastián (Gipuzkoa, Spain)
· Dursley (Gloucestershire, United Kingdom)
· West Palm Beach (Florida, United States)
